Terms and Conditions for Treats and Walkies
By booking or using the dog walking services provided by Treats and Walkies, based in Malvern, Worcestershire, you (hereafter referred to as “the Client”) agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read these carefully before engaging our services. These terms form the basis of the contract between Treats and Walkies and the Client.
1. Booking and Payment
Advance Booking: All dog walking services must be booked in advance via our website (treatsandwalkies.co.uk), email (contact@treatsandwalkies.co.uk), or phone 07740866964 Nemi, 07956272672 Lawrence. Same-day bookings may be accommodated subject to availability.
Payment: Payment is due at the end of the walk unless otherwise agreed. Accepted payment methods include bank transfer or cash.
Cancellations: Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice to avoid a 50% cancellation fee. No-shows or early departure from a booked walk will incur the full charge.
Rescheduling: Clients may reschedule bookings with at least 24 hours’ notice via our online system or by contacting Treats and Walkies directly.
2. Client Responsibilities
Pet Information: Clients must provide accurate, up-to-date information about their dog’s health, behaviour, and special needs, including but not limited to medical conditions, allergies, medications, and temperament. Failure to disclose relevant information may result in refusal of service.
Health and Vaccinations: All dogs must be up to date with vaccinations (including kennel cough), flea, tick, and worming treatments.
Microchipping: Dogs must be microchipped with up-to-date details.
Collars and Tags: Dogs must wear a collar with an identity tag displaying the owner’s name and address during walks, as required by the Control of Dogs Order 1992. Treats and Walkies may attach a temporary tag with our contact details during walks.
3. Dog Safety and Behaviour
Initial Assessment: All dogs will undergo an initial assessment to ensure they are suitable for our services. Treats and Walkies reserves the right to refuse service to any dog deemed dangerous, disruptive, or unsuitable due to behavioural or health issues.
Group Walks: A maximum of six dogs will be walked at one time to ensure effective control and safety, in line with best practices.
Off-Lead Walking: Dogs will only be allowed off-lead with the Client’s written consent and if deemed safe by Treats and Walkies. Clients are responsible for ensuring their dog is recall-trained and will not escape.
Contagious Conditions: Clients must notify Treats and Walkies immediately if their dog has been exposed to or affected by contagious conditions (e.g., kennel cough, parvovirus, fleas). Affected dogs will not be permitted to join walks until cleared by a veterinarian.
4. Safety and Liability
Supervision: Dogs must be under close supervision at all times during walks. Treats and Walkies will ensure dogs are not left unattended.
Liability: While every effort is made to ensure the safety and well-being of your dog, Treats and Walkies are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during walks, except in cases of gross negligence. Clients are responsible for ensuring their dog is fit to participate in walks.
Emergency Veterinary Care: In case of an emergency, Treats and Walkies will seek veterinary treatment from a local authorised veterinarian. Clients will be responsible for any associated costs, and a Veterinary Release Form must be signed prior to service.
Property Damage: Clients are responsible for any damage caused by their dog to property, other animals, or people during walks.
5. Conduct During Walks
Trackers Or Tracking Devices: With your permission and for the added peace of mind we can use a tracker on your dog’s collar.
Cleanliness: Treats and Walkies must ensure the dog’s waste is picked up immediately and disposed of appropriately.
Local Regulations: Treats and Walkies adheres to local regulations, including leash laws and restrictions on commercial dog walking in certain areas (e.g., access land). Clients must inform us of any specific requirements for their dog’s walks.
6. Privacy and Security
Key Handling: If home access is required, a Key Handling Form or Lockbox Agreement will be provided to outline procedures. Keys will be securely stored and not labeled with identifiable information.
Confidentiality: Client and pet information will be kept confidential and used only for service-related purposes, in compliance with GDPR.
Lock Codes: If a lockbox or gate code is used, clients must not share codes with third parties. Codes may change without notice.
